How to spot it

Look for a row, column or box with a single empty cell. Count through 1 to 9 to find the number it lacks. Full Houses turn up more and more as a puzzle fills in, so check the lines and boxes around every number you place.

Why it works

Every row, column and box holds each number from 1 to 9 exactly once. With eight different numbers already in place, only one number is left, and only one cell is left to take it.

On a real puzzle

This is Full House on its practice puzzle, at the first step that needs it. The game's hint explains the step like this:

Full House
  1. Column 2: only one cell is empty.
  2. Column 2: the only missing number is 7.

Practice it

This Easy puzzle is solved with singles alone, from the first number to the last. If you get stuck, the hint shows the next one and names it.
